Identify Other Marketers in Your Niche
There are niche markets for everything under the sun so your idea for a new product or service falls into at least one of them. Think of the Internet market place as a grocery store. Imagine the aisles. There is an aisle for canned vegetables and on that aisle the different canned vegetables are categorized into asparagus, string beans, English peas, etc. If someone came up with a new variety of string beans and got it canned and to market, it would be stacked with the other canned varieties of string beans…not with the carrots and not with the cleaning supplies. It would be in its own niche. The developer of this new string bean would have sampled all of the other string beans on the market and figured out a way to make his different or better than what was being offered in the market place.
In the Internet market place, there are ‘aisles’ (niches) for all kinds of products and services. If you have an idea for accounting software, you need to look on the software aisle and find accounting software products. You need to know what is being offered and by whom. You need to identify your major marketing competitors. See what they are offering and find a way that you can do it better, cheaper, faster or more efficiently.
Once you identify your main marketing competitors, you can find out everything you need to know about them by searching the Internet. It isn’t called ‘the information super highway’ for nothing. See what the competition is offering and find a way to do it better. See how they are marketing their products and find a way to market yours better. See what they are doing right….see what they are doing wrong and make use of that knowledge.

Profit Centers You Can Build into Your Articles
Never forget that the bottom line is always to increase your profits. This is also true in article marketing, and many Internet Marketers earn an astounding amount of money simply by writing articles.
Articles can drive customers to your website, where a sale can be made. They can be used to build confidence and trust, and to establish yourself as an expert, which in turn increases sales. They can be compiled into a file and sold as private label rights articles. They can be compiled into digital products and sold.
But there is one more way to profit from your articles. You obviously want to advertise your website, within your author’s resource box, but what can you do within the article itself to monitize from it?
Remember that the object is to make money. Does it really matter whether that money comes from a sale of your product or a sale of someone else’s product, as long as it ends up in your pocket? Not really!
Use your competition to earn money. Sign up for their affiliate programs, and promote them within the text of your articles. Sign up for programs that are directly related to the content of your article, even if they are not in direct competition with you. Don’t be afraid of the competition – use them to your advantage!
When including affiliate links, make them attractive. You will discover that obvious affiliate links are usually ignored. If this means that you must direct the reader to a specific page of your website, and then have them click through to the affiliate products sales page, then do so. You can also use software that cloaks and/or shortens affiliate links as well.
The important thing here is to not allow your article to become an ad or a sales letter. Make sure it is informative, then recommend an affiliate product that fits in with the topic of the article. You may be pleasantly surprised at how much your overall profits increase, and how quickly that happens.

Questionable Traffic Generation Methods You Must Not Use!
There are a number of questionable traffic generation methods you should avoid if possible. While they may work some time if you get extremely lucky, 99.99% of the time, they will produce no results at all.
The two most common questionable traffic generation methods people fail with are buying “targeted traffic” and using classified ads.
Let's start with targeted traffic campaigns. For marketing reasons, the people who sell these traffic campaigns call it “targeted traffic,” when, in reality, it is the absolute lowest, scummiest form of traffic. This traffic is usually generated through spam, untargeted pop-ups, and domain squatting. The entire business is a racket – and they're delivering all of their angry customers directly to your site.
Not only is this simply not going to generate revenue, but it also has the potential to get you reported to your host, as many of these visitors wont be happy that they ended up at your site.
Avoid these bogus traffic generation campaigns at all costs. Almost all people waste money on them sooner or later. Don't be one of the herd; avoid the mistake.
Using classified advertisements is usually disasterous, too. To begin with, most people simply cannot create a classified ad that will generate traffic even if it does receive hundreds of views. But what makes classified ads worse is that they're tiny boxes on a page of scores of advertisements.
The chances of someone actually finding your ad in a classified section are pretty slim, even with a high circulation paper.
Things are even worse at online classified sites. Many of these sites exist only to host classifed ads to generate revenue. In reality, people are only going there to post ads – not to look at them.
So avoid these two types of advertising. They're a waste of your time; and you'll only be disappointed and short on cash after you're done experimenting.
