Date: August 1, 2006 As I continue to grow as an affiliate marketer, I strive to learn new and more diverse opportunities to make money online. Remember that the one of the most common suggestions of online entrepreneurs is to create multiple streams of incomes from many different campaign and programs. Further, understanding the multiple types of online money making programs helps you find the “niche” that will ultimately make you the most money. For some, affiliate marketing may seem a bit intimidating: It is driven a lot by reviews, reports, advertising, promotion and sales. In affiliate marketing, you, the online entrepreneur, are just a middle man: You direct people to your site (or landing page) and it is your job to convince them to buy from another website. If you achieve your goals, you will receive a portion of the sales, lead or click that came from your site. There are a few downfalls to this: 1) You have no control over the selling site. 2) You must rely on their ad-copy as much as your ad-copy to ultimately make the sale 3) You lose sales tracking ability the minute the buyer leaves your site. Tracking sales to ad campaigns is very difficult. 4) You are competing against other affiliate marketers. 5) Relatively speaking, compensation can be low and out of your control. For example, I currently promote a product that the website founder likes to change the price and the commission of the product very regularly. Some weeks I make close to $30 per sale, other weeks, less than $8 per sale (for the SAME product!). As an affiliate marketer, what I am to do? I either must grin and bear it or drop them as an affiliate. So what other options are there to help reduce these issues? The closest program to affiliate marketing that reduces or eliminates the affiliate marketing issues is dropshipping. With dropshipping, you are actually selling the product; you are no longer the middle man. This is similar to buying wholesale and marking up the price for each product, but with a little twist! With dropshipping, you only purchase the product AFTER someone purchases the product from you. In addition, the product is never in your hands; it is shipped directly to the end customer. For example, let’s say you want to sell ipods. First, you would find a dropshipper that sells the product (at a below market value to you). Second, you create a website, an eBay auction, Amazon Shop, etc. When someone makes a purchase, you return to the dropshipping site, place the order for them, include their address information and the sale is completed. Your earning is the price difference between the final customer cost and the wholesale cost + shipping cost + dropshipping fee. Let’s say that your wholesale cost of an ipod is $150 and you sell it for $200. The dropshipper charges you $18 for shipping and $2 for the dropship fee. Your profit on the sales is then $30. What are the advantages over affiliate marketing? 1) Control of the final landing page and how the product is presented. 2) Less competition 3) Ability to set your own price and earnings 4) Ability to track your sales to completion 5) Less time required (in some cases) creating an avenue to sell the products (through eBay and Amazon, for example) 6) Potential higher earnings per sale (relative to affiliate marketing) What are the disadvantages over affiliate marketing? 1) You are now required the action of purchasing each product after a sale 2) Setting up payment methods (though companies like Paypal make this pretty easy…they just take a percentage of the sales) 3) Direct contact with the customer 4) Finding the right product at the right price with the right dropshipper can take some time and negotiating. 5) Higher risk of fraud and poor dropshipping companies. As similar as the two programs are, they are quite different in what they have to offer you. Affiliate marketing usually requires a bit more front-end work, but once the commissions start coming, the maintenance is fairly minimal. As for dropshipping, you can get set-up and going relatively quickly. With superstores like eBay and Amazon, dropshipping requires no custom landing pages and minimal promotion. This, however, requires a little more work throughout the existence of the campaign. The per-sale-action ultimately requires more work in the long run. One thing is certain...no traffic=no sales. This is a given in the internet marketing world. How does one go about getting the all important traffic to that great looking website? There are many ways for one to explore. Here are a just a few. 1. PPC...the ever elusive and enticing pay per click advertising. One simply pays for website traffic. This can be a good way for some, however, for most average internet marketers, it may lead to more money out of the pocket than in. The inner workings of the internet may seem complicated to most; however, it is not an unattainable goal to reach the top positions of Google, Yahoo and MSN. 2. The hiring of an SEO|SEM company may be appealing to some. This is a very good way to achieve the needed traffic to the website. Caution is the dictator here. One must be certain that the SEO|SEM company hired will perform the job as stated. Many so-called internet marketing search engine optimization companies are in business to simply take money...and deliver nothing for it. Buyer beware. 3. Traffic Exchanges...Here the individual simply joins the traffic exchange, and either surfs for credits, or in some cases buys credits...hits...to the website. Effective marketing technique; however, the person must be aware that time is required here. Time to pursue the traffic exchanges properly and learn the different techniques associated with the effective use of surfing. 4. Posting to forums...This is a highly effective way for the individual to obtain link popularity and exposure for the website in question. Here again, time is the issue. Setting up a proper and consistent routine of posting to forums requires time and effort. There are no quick fixes on the internet...even though many scam artists will sing a different tune just to separate the individual from their money. 5. Writing press releases...This is one of the most powerful tools that the internet marketer has before him today. Writing an effective press release is the sure-fire way to get a website up on the searches quickly. Here again, this requires consistent effort, a flair and love of writing...and self discipline. 7. Writing for ezines...Writing for ezines...or online magazines is a very productive way for the marketer to get outstanding results. Ezines pull significant weight on the internet. This process again...requires self discipline...desire...and a flair for the written word. The aforementioned techniques are all credible and reliable ways to obtain top positions on the search engines or the internet today. Ghostwriting is a common practice today in all aspects of
writing from articles and eBooks to emails and eZines...and
more. Ghostwriting is when a person, known as a "ghost" author,
writes the content. Then someone else assumes this content as
their own, with the consent of the ghost.
The ghostwriter’s name does not appear on the material; i.e.
cover of the eBook, in the byline of the article, etc. as the
‘author.’ Instead the name of the person for whom the book is
written is shown as the author of the book. However, sometimes
ghostwriters may receive some partial credit in the name of
authorship or may appear in the forward or introduction of the
book.
There are several ways to find and hire ghostwriters for your
projects. You can post on Elance.com or rentacoder.com. You an
also register at forums in your target niches or areas of
interest and seek ghostwriters through forum posting.
Another popular way to find a ghost is to ask for referrals
from friends and colleagues. Ghostwriters often have full
schedules and only accept new clients as referrals, so this
would be a great way to connect.
All the Private Label content you see available is ghost
written. If you want something absolutely unique you can
engage the services of a ghost writer who will do the research
and writing to your criteria. Of course you will be paying for
the work being done.

"Are We Clear?"

For most of us, when we hear this being said, it's often a
stern warning rather than a genuine question.
And unfortunately many questions are merely statements in
disguise.
But if this question IS asked in a sincere fashion, it really
is a good one.
What could be more important than being clear?
And I'm not talking only about communication.
I'm talking about being clear on who we are, what we want,
why we want it, what we stand for--and what we WON'T stand for.
Finding people who match this description is a rare occurrence.
How many people do you know who you could truly say that about?
And what about YOU? Are you clear?
In my 30-plus years of studying success principles and why and
how people became successful--or didn't--I've found many common
denominators.
But even with the principles, disciplines and beliefs shared
by successful people, the one that stands out the most to me
is being clear and being congruent with that clarity.
You can have many skills, talents, knowledge and insights, but
if you lack clarity and congruity, you will not achieve your
full and unique potential.
I know, because for most of my life, I didn't even come close.
I had a fair amount of talent, I had studied--and knew--most
of the success principles, but real and lasting success always
seemed to elude me.
For much of my life I have lived far below what I was capable
of accomplishing. I was smart, talented, hard working and--with
only a few exceptions--failing. I looked good, smelled good--
and I was broke. I felt like a fake--and to some extent, I was.
What I now believe was lacking was clarity of purpose: the
understanding and allegiance to my values and the consistent
focus to truly be who I felt I could and should be. I often felt
like I was missing something, that I didn't have the last
number in the combination lock of success.
And to some extent that was true. Because I was unclear, I
second-guessed myself a lot. I felt like I was doing things
wrong. I even believed I was being punished for not getting
it right.
Perhaps I needed to go through the crucible I went through
in order to really learn what I needed learn. But somehow
I managed to get clear on what I really wanted--and just as
importantly, WHY I wanted it.
I began to think of myself as deserving. And things started
to change.
I have by no means "arrived" and I certainly don't share this
with you to boast. I share it because I believe it can make
a difference for you.
When I start to struggle and feel overwhelmed, I know I'm
losing my clarity edge and I'm unsure of the next best action
to take. When I notice this, I step back a bit. I invest the
time and energy to get clear on what it is I truly want to
have happen. I also get clear on what is likely standing in
my way.
As I look at what SuccessNet has done over the last 10 years,
I see we've we have provided the best assistance to our great
subscribers and members by helping them get clearer, to think
bigger and expose them to possibilities they might not have
seen otherwise. It feels good.
And on that, I'm clear.
Action Point
The biggest hurdle is to realize where you are unclear. Once
you understand that and truly begin looking for the clarity,
you will surely find it. It's almost impossible to become LESS
clear when you're focused on more clarity. If you invest the
time to do this, you will make significant progress. It will
be easier than you thought possible and you will experience
more fulfillment than ever before.
