Let’s start with this very basic fact which a lot of you may find quite startling: yes, you can make money online! This truth is not what is really fantastic. Rather, it’s the myriad ways by which you can earn a living in the World Wide Web that is truly remarkable.
And one of the best ways to earn some profit on the internet is through affiliate marketing. You may have heard about this opportunity before, mainly because it is patterned after direct marketing tactics in the real world. Affiliate marketing, however, involves digital pre-selling. Indeed, Google’s Pay Per Click (PPC) program has caught the attention and interest of many online entrepreneurs because of the ease by which ads can be displayed, the promise of compensation that the potential number of clicks can bring, and the technology (specifically contextual relevancy) that is behind such a system. A lot of online entrepreneurs have actually made a living – yes, you read that right, MADE A LIVING – by creating dozens if not hundreds of websites pulling in thousands of dollars per day in PPC revenues.

However, Yahoo’s ad display is not contextual, which means lesser clicks because your visitors may not be that interested with what is being displayed on your web pages. Nonetheless, quite a number of online businessmen have claimed success with Yahoo’s PPC program, so it is definitely worth the try.
3. Kanoodle at www.kanoodle.com – Yet another PPC program very much similar to Google AdSense is Kanoodle. Unlike Yahoo, Kanoodle does employ a more accurate contextual advertising service, that is, the ads it will display on your web pages are relevant to the subject of the same. However, such contextual advertising is still not as accurate as AdSense’s which may result in diminished clicks. Nonetheless, some quarters do say that Kanoodle’s ads are more attractive, hence, more clickable.
4. AdBrite at www.adbrite.com – AdBrite is an amazing alternative in that, it works via a reverse philosophy compared to established PPC programs. Whereas Google, Yahoo and Kanoodle invite advertisers to promote their websites via their PPC programs, AdBrite invites webmasters to sell advertising space on their websites. The more visitors you are garnering per day, the higher your advertising space can cost. AdBrite more or less guarantees a fixed rate whereas other PPC programs cannot as your income will be dependent on how many people will click on the ads.
5. SearchFeed at www.searchfeed.com - SearchFeed is a search engine service very much like Google which also offers contextual advertising. However, SearchFeed does one better by offering geotargeting features, which means that the ads appear based on the region where the websites are being accessed from. If a site is being visited by users from China, it is possible to display Chinese versions of the ads. SearchFeed is in its initial phase of operations, but this early, many online entrepreneurs are excited about the promises the program offers.
Google AdSense is still the best PPC program, with many enrollees claiming to have made a fortune through its system. But Google AdSense isn’t the only PPC income stream you can avail of. Branching out to other options may prove to be more beneficial for your online enterprise.
