Viral Videos Now Prime-Time TV
- by Jim Edwards

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I flipped on VH1 yesterday and sat enthralled as a rap
artist with colorful language skills hosted "Web Junk 20"
where they played 20 videos plucked from the web and played
them on cable TV.
Last night I saw that Bravo Channel now airs a show called
"Outrageous and Contagious Viral Videos" in the afternoon
and evening.
The show features videos found online, focusing on funny,
creative and "blooper" style content (though they skipped
the foul-mouthed rap star).
Though most of the viral videos currently getting air time
on TV get ooh's, aah's and laughter, the fact that "viral
videos" are now a part of everyday reality has serious
business implications.
For those of you without a teenager or that one "special"
friend who always sends the latest joke or video every time
you open your in-box, let me bring you up to speed.
A "viral video" is a video played from a web page or as a
file on your computer. It goes "viral" because one person
sees it and passes it on to more people, who in turn pass it
on to their contacts (like a cold virus).
This social interaction is the gas in the video's tank to
help it drive around the web, sometimes getting millions of
views all over the world.
Now, once we get beyond the "jackass" stunts, bloopers, and
giggles, the principles that drive viral videos can help
generate serious traffic to business websites.
These videos go viral in a general market because they play
to interests and emotions we all share, including: laughter,
horror, lust, and sadness. In the absence of any other
common factors, we, as humans, all love to laugh, etc.
In business, we've learned that niche markets make it much
easier to sell a product or service because we can group
people based on profession, physical characteristics, and
interests.
For example, a dental supply salesman knows to target
dentists and hygienists, and would not bother calling on a
craft store.
On the web, a dog trainer knows they should target dog
lovers, and if they're really smart, they target owners of a
specific breed of dog.
Anyone who sells anything to anyone online can harness the
power of viral videos to get traffic to their website simply
by targeting their videos at a specific audience and
appealing to the same emotions that encourage people to pass
along other viral videos.
** Humor **
Put a smile on people's faces, make them laugh, give them a
moment's break from a hectic day and they'll love you for it
(and want to share it with their friends).
Who says you can't make a "how to" video for your customers
wearing a chicken suit!
** Short and Sweet **
The best videos that keep people's attention last under 6
minutes. When starting out, try to keep your videos under 2
minutes, especially if they contain mostly "commercial"
content.
** "Ask To Pass" **
Sometimes a simple sentence of "Hey, if you like this video,
feel free to pass it along to a friend" at the end of your
video will start the viral effect rolling.
** Go Where The Viewers Go **
Once you've distributed your video to your existing
customers and asked them to share it, put your videos out
where new people can see them.
Start with http://Video.Google.com, iFilm.com, and
YouTube.com and then keep your eyes open for new places to
post your videos to attract new viewers.

Discover The Number Way To Market On The Internet
There are only seven reasons why you want to write f*r*ee
Internet articles. If any of these are not your objectives, then
there is no reason to begin. If any one of these does not
continue to fit into your objectives, then it is time to stop and
move on to another sales process.
Writing Internet articles needs to be part of your sales process,
not your only element but one of many. When it is a part of your
marketing strategy, it works. If you are already writing these
types of articles and the sales are not occurring, then there can
only be a problem in one of the following:
* Your distribution method
* Your conversion process
* In the quality or quantity of the article
If your objectives include:
1. Obtaining back links* (links from other people's sites to yours)
in order to increase search engine visibility.
2. To increase traffic to your web site.
3. Increase on-line sales of your product.
4. Generate new or continuing brand awareness.
5. Set yourself up as an expert in a particular, the best is
specific, subject area. Or to expand your expertise visibility.
6. Move your business from ?ˇălocal?ˇŔ area to International.
7. Increase awareness or visibility in any other way.
Article marketing works well because it provides back
links (from
your resource box) back to your web site. This
marketing
process also works well because it hits on all seven of
the
objectives listed above.
The win for article readers, that is if you write your
article
correctly, is that they receive another tidbit of
information that
raises their set point in their goal to obtain additional
knowledge.
* Reciprocal linking is not the same as back linking.
Reciprocal
linking is when you place a link on your site if someone
else
places it on their site. Due to changes in the
programming of the
search engines, especially the two top ones - Google
and
Yahoo, these can actually take away your brownie
points in your
search engine status.

How To Promote An Over-Promoted Product
(c) 2006 Charlie Page
www.RealWorldTactics.com
------------------------------------------------------
I'll bet you've seen the ads.
"Earn $500 a day!" they scream.
Or how about this one?
"No selling. No phone calls. Etc. Etc."
Or this one ... "Fire your boss"
Sometimes it feels like everyone is promoting the same
thing at one time.
Some years back it was the Cookie Cutter or SFI. Now
it's the 1 Step System or PAS.
Can anyone really make any money promoting a system
that is so over-promoted?
YOU BET THEY CAN!
But it takes a bit of creativity and the willingness to
be unique. If that sounds good to you, you'll love what
comes next.
>>> FIVE WAYS TO PROMOTE AN OVER-PROMOTED PROGRAM <<<
>>> 1. Don't Use The Company Ad Or URL
Every company I know hires writers to write great ads
and promotional pieces for their associates or
affiliates to use. Nothing wrong with that.
But what happens when literally millions of people are
placing the same ads?
The ads become almost worthless.
This is why you must avoid using the ads the company
provides for you.
By all means, test their ads to see if they work for
you. But at the same time, be sure to write ads of your
own that are in your own voice. This is the only way to
stand out from the crowd when promoting an over-
promoted website.
Need help writing a great ad? I've got the answer
for you at this private URL.
www.RealWorldTactics.com/cmd.php?ad=207707
>>> 2. Focus On One Problem And Solve It
People get excited. It's a natural thing to get excited
about your new business. In fact, it's a good thing.
But don't forget in that excitement that your
prospective customer only cares about one thing.
What's In It For Me
Your customer needs to solve a problem. So, when you
write your shiny new ad, FOCUS all of the ad's
attention on one problem.
HOT TIP: If you make your ads about saving time, making
money or saving money you will do well. These are
universal needs.
>>> 3. Focus On One Product And Promote It
This applies mainly to programs like SFI, where you
have lots of products to promote and you can promote
the business too.
The best way to go here is often to pick one product
and promote that product alone. Write a great ad
extolling the virtue of your insurance product.
Once a person becomes a customer for that product, use
email to introduce them to the rest of your fine
products as well, or even the business itself.
Using this backdoor approach can often lead to many new
signups even when creating signups was not what you
were promoting. Plus, you'll make a couple of bucks
selling find products! ;)
>>> 4. Never Send Anyone To The Company Website
That might sound radical to some, but follow the logic
and see if you agree.
Let's say you work hard to promote your new-found
venture, and spend a few bucks buying some pay per
click ads. You insert your good old affiliate link as
you've been instructed. And now Paula Prospect sees
your ad and clicks the link.
Whose business are you building now?
The company's business, that's whose.
Sure, you might make A sale. But the company will make
a fortune.
The reason for this is that the company is building
THEIR mailing list off of your efforts.
You might find that to be a good thing. If you do,
that's okay. But remember this. Paula is going to be
interested in other businesses as well. You can count
on that.
And she could just as easily be on your list as well as
the company's.
All you need to do is put up a simple lead capture page
and have Paula fill out your form before going to the
company site. There are no lack of companies who will
do this work for you for a very small fee.
In fact, the prolific Alex Mandossian just started a
service like this at MMG. You can learn more here ...
www.RealWorldTactics.com/cmd.php?ad=260150
>>> 5. Use An Autoresponder Address Instead Of A Website
Why does every call to click have to go to a website?
Answer: they don't.
For YEARS, one of the top marketers online (a name you
would know) operated a highly successful operation
without a website.
Yep ... 100% email. [Paul - you know who you are!]
Can you *really* succeed online without a website? You
can, but not forever. Sooner or later, you'll need a
site.
In the meantime, why not make a few bucks with email?
Get the materials that your company provides and use
them to create an incredible follow up system. Then
advertise your autoresponder email address instead of
a website!
HINT: You can still make it a link they click by adding
the mailto: prefix. It would look like this if I were
doing it for my address ...
mailto:charlie@directoryofezines.com
The mailto: prefix ensures the link can be clicked in
most cases, and will open a blank email they can fire
off!
Need to create an incredible follow up series?
It's much easier than you might think. Check this
out.
www.RealWorldTactics.com/cmd.php?ad=207714
I have to thank my faithful readers for the idea behind
this article. In the last six months I've received
about 100 phone calls (no kidding) from affiliates of
these various programs asking "Is it saturated" or
"will my ad for this product even be noticed?"
It is through working with you (I donated my time) that
I was able to test the methods above and prove they
work.
There ARE ways to promote even the most over-promoted
of programs. It takes thinking 'outside the box' and a
willingness to try new things.
But if you do that, and succeed, you will have created
your own mini-marketing plan that is proven effective.
Once you do that, you can share it privately with your
downline and watch your business explode.
And THAT is a beautiful thing indeed!
