How To Effectively Promote All Your Affiliate Programs


Signing up for affiliate programs is easy, but turning
them into a paycheck is another story. According to a
recent survey, the average affiliate signs up for 48
programs a year, but makes less than $100 a month. Those
are not inspiring statistics.

The difficulty for most affiliates is three-fold:

1.
They don't know how to promote

2.
They don't know how to promote multiple affiliate programs

3.
They don't know how to drive traffic to their websites

The top affiliates have mastered these three points
already. They're clearing thousands, sometimes tens of
thousands of dollars a month. If you're looking for a
simple way to join the ranks of the super affiliates,
these three steps will point you in the right direction.

1.      
Promoting An Affiliate Program

When you sign up for an affiliate program and you get
the standard affiliate link with the megalithic long
string of digits, don't promote it. It looks very
unprofessional, people are conditioned to ignore
affiliate links, your affiliate commissions are being
hijacked, and you're losing sales. You need to combat
these problems in 1 of 2 ways.

At the very least, you cloak or redirect your affiliate
link using a page on your website. But better yet, set-up
a page on your website that offers useful information on
the topic you're promoting. Write a simple product review
or a review of the industry with links to the affiliate
program you're promoting. And don't forget to always
offer your visitors a way to join your list.

2.      
Promoting Multiple Affiliate Programs

Two of the simplest ways to promote multiple affiliate
programs are using an affiliate information portal like
Affiliate Showcase, or professional blogging software
like WordPress Pro. Links to both these resources can be
found in the resource box at the bottom of this article.

Affiliate Showcase is a portal website that allows you to
professionally present all your affiliate programs from
one clean layout. It comes in a free and pro version and
dramatically increases your affiliate commission rates.

WordPress Pro is a plug-in for the free WordPress
blogging software. It allows casual users to turn
themselves into powerhouse marketing machines in a matter
of minutes. The software gives you the power to tag key
word phrases with your affiliate links. When you post an
article on your WordPress Pro enhanced website, your
keywords are automatically hyperlinked to your affiliate
website. Every single article or post on your website
becomes a super sonic selling machine for all your
affiliate programs ­ you set it and forget it. This
software is magic. When you visit Catalin's site, click
the play button on the audio player. Catalin has the
coolest accent.

3.      
Driving Traffic To Your Website

This is one of the most important functions of marketing.
You can have the best website in the world, but if you
don't have traffic coming in through the doors, what's
the point of having a website? My favourite, unorthodox
way of generating traffic costs $10, but it's worth
thousands of dollars.

Mark Flavin has designed a system that generates traffic
for your website, but more importantly, it generates
sales. It's a plug and play, automated, set-it-and-forget
it system that takes you a few minutes to set up, but
costs next to nothing.

When I first read Mark's work, I have to admit, I thought
he was a bit off his rocker. He talks about marketing
techniques that we all know don't work or are way to
commonplace. Things like classified ads, banners, pop-ups,
AdSense and reprint rights, at first glance don’t strike
me as extreme traffic generators or profit makers. But
with Mark's twist, I was actually able to make these
things work!

It reminds me of another Mark's comments once upon the
day. Mark Joyner once said that he could take tons of
"cheeseburger traffic" and feed it to a good converting
site to pull a very healthy profit. Don't knock it till
you try it.

If you're still a struggling affiliate, take the time to
update your toolbox with a few of the simple, but
powerful tools you now have access to. What you do today
affects your income tomorrow. Make it your mission to do
something.

How To Build Your List For Free Using Google Adwords


There are numerous ways you can go about building your list,
but in my opinion using Google Adwords, and indeed other
pay-per-click sites, is one of the best ways of building a
highly targeted list of responsive subscribers. Not only
that, but if done correctly, you can effectively build your
list for free, as I will demonstrate in the remainder of
this article.

I own numerous websites in a variety of niches, and have
successfully built up large lists of subscribers for a lot
of these sites. A large percentage of these subscribers have
come from Google Adwords alone, and best of all it's hardly
cost me anything at all.

It all comes down to one thing - Backend Commissions.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Find targeted, but relatively cheap keywords you can use
to advertise your site on Google Adwords (less than $0.40
per click). The lower the better, and as any Adwords expert
will tell you, you should start off by bidding low to be
placed in the top 5-10 results in the pay-per-click results,
and concentrate on maximising your click-thru rate with a
compelling headline and compelling sales copy, to obtain a
higher position without having to increase your
cost-per-click.

2. Create an opt-in page and send the traffic you receive to
this page. This site has to be compelling enough for the
visitors you receive to fill out the opt-in form to
subscribe to your list. You should offer a free report
and/or bonus to get as many visitors to subscribe as
possible.

3. Here's the crucial part. On your thank you page that your
visitors are sent to after they have filled-in your form,
you should place links to either your own product, or to a
quality affiliate product that you can earn commissions
from.

This is a highly effective way of earning backend
commissions and effectively recouping your advertising
costs, if you have a good offer. You'd be surprised at just
how many people purchase from this thank you page. In my
experience a typical response rate is often anywhere between
2% and 10%, and for certain sites I've received a 30%
success rate, so in some instances I have actually made more
money from sales than I actually paid out in pay-per-click
advertising. Therefore, I'm effectively building my list for
free, and earning small profits along the way.

If you think about it, it's not surprising people take you
up on your offer because they have already trusted you
enough to leave their name and email address with you, so
why wouldn't they take you up on your offer?

One thing I will say though is that the product or offer
that you place on your thank you page must be affordable (I
would say $47 or less) otherwise you may find that none of
your opt-in subscribers take you up on your offer. Look at
it objectively and ask yourself whether you'd be tempted to
purchase the offer if it was someone else's site, and you
were the one that had just opted in.

In addition to using your thank you page as a way of
recouping your advertising costs, another good way of
achieving this goal is by giving away free reports or ebooks
to your opt-in subscribers which contain your affiliate
links. This provides another way of earning backend
commissions, and although, in my experience, not quite as
profitable as the thank you page method, can still deliver
the occasional sale, which all helps to cover your
pay-per-click advertising costs.

To sum up then, if you're building your list, make sure that
you are fully utilising your thank you page as a way of
earning commissions. If done correctly, you can successfully
recoup your Adwords costs, or indeed those costs that arise
from any other forms of promotion, and build your list for
free. As I have hopefully demonstrated, this thank you page
can be a very profitable page of your website, but
unfortunately most people simply don't take advantage of
this space and leave it blank, or just provide basic
instructions for completing the opt-in process. I've been
guilty of this myself in the past, but I now make sure that
I have a way of receiving backend commissions on the thank
you page of all of my niche websites.

Admittedly, there are some niches where the high
cost-per-click means that it is very hard to recoup your
advertising costs completely from backend commissions, but
even so, you can still claw back some of your costs by using
the methods I've discussed in this article.

Real wholesale distributors do not have any need to market their services and products to small home businesses when they have a huge bulk of inventory to supply to big retailers across the world. Attending trade shows to hook up with a real wholesale distributor or sourcing products from a product sourcing expert is the only way of finding a real wholesale distributor.

Don’t waste your time buying from a middle man, you need to buy from the source.
