Great Article Writing Tips
A good way to write a popular article is to find a problem
that the people in your target audience have and then provide
them with an answer that will help them solve it.
People like to read things that offer solutions to problems
and preferably ones that are not too hard. Articles that contain
easy to follow steps work very well in just about any situation.
For instance; Three Steps to Super Clean Windows or How to
Stop a Leaky Faucet in Four Easy Steps.
Keep that in mind when you are deciding what to write in your
next article and you will have an easier time deciding what
to write about.
Let's talk about choosing the right title for your article.
Do not underestimate the power of a good title when it comes
to getting your article read. The right title can help your
article be picked by interested reader and published by
newsletter owners.
Your title should be descriptive and catchy. It should make the
reader want to know more about the content in it. The idea is
to capture the readers attention with a casual glance and let
them know what it is about at the same time.
This may sound a little tricky but with some practice and
testing you will easily get the hang of it.
What should you include in your opening paragraph?
Your opening paragraph should not only introduce the reader
to the subject but also give them a reason to continue
reading. It should give them a brief overview of what they
can expect to learn from the rest of the article.
Let them know what problem you are going to help them with.
Assure them that you have a solution that will save them time,
money or trouble. When you are writing your opening paragraph
keep in mind that you have to give them a good reason to keep
on reading or they may lose interest and look elsewhere.
What about your credibility?
It is important to establish credibility with the reader.
After all why should they listen to you, have you had this
problem and if so how did it affect you and your business?
When you solved the problem, what benefits did it bring you
and how did it make things better?
If you can establish credibility with your reader they will
be willing to listen to you and follow your advice. If you lack
credibility in their eyes, they may be unwilling to follow your
advice and will most likely be uninterested in what you have to
offer.
Tell Your story.
Telling a story or sharing your personal experience can
be a great way to encourage your reader to keep reading
instead of losing interest.
Let the reader know what you have gone through. Give them a
reason to empathize with you so that they can see themselves
in the same situation. Once you get your reader thinking
"he/she's one of us", you will be perceived as an understanding
individual offering a solution and not just an anonymous
writer.
Then share with them the solution the problem. Let them
know how it worked for you and how it can help them too.
Once you have finished your story your article will be
complete.

Blogging Quick Tips
It's time to start blogging.
If you have never posted to a blog or weblog before the first
thing you need to do is decide what the topic of your blog will
be.
If you plan on starting a business type blog, it needs to be a
little more informational, but still informal, so that the
people who read it, actually want to read it and will want to
keep coming back to check for more helpful information.
If it is a personal blog then it needs to be a little more fun
and entertaining. You can fill it with just about anything that
interests you. Although it is a good idea not to include to
much personal information, because you never know who will be
reading.
As you begin to blog you will find that blogging is not as
formal as a standard web page. In fact it can make it seem
more accessible and friendly, if the blog is written in a
more conversational style.
You can express your views in a more informal way on any given
topic rather than just telling the reader what it is that you
want to convey to them. This allows your reader to become more
interested and involved in what you have to say.
Lets talk about choosing the best topic or niche for your blog.
Especially if you want to make money with it.
Picking your niche carefully is very important if you are
planning to generate an income from your blog. You don't want
to choose too wide of a niche or you will find that it is hard
to compete with the big sites and blogs.
For instance, rather than choosing health and fitness you might
try, a smaller more focused topic like exercise for the office,
or the home workers guide to staying fit. This gives you more
chance of ranking well in your niche.
Let's talk about using keywords in your blog.
If you use great keywords in your blog you can expect to see
a lot of traffic from the search engines. This is the best
type of traffic because it is targeted and it's free.
There are many ways and tools you can use to find good keywords
for your blog. Like the Overture (Yahoo!) Keyword Suggestion
Tool here: www.vretoolbar.com/keywords/
When you type in a keyword related to your blog it will give you
a list of keywords to use in your blog that people are searching
for. It will also tell you how many times the word is searched
for, plus other useful information that you can use to find the
best keywords for your blog, so search engines will send you
traffic.
If you vary the keywords that you use you will give yourself a
better chance of getting free traffic from the search engines.
Many search engine specialists think that the search engines
look for a keyword density of around 2-3%.
This means that for every 100 words that you write you will
need to mention the keyword 2-3 times. Try not let this affect
your style of writing. It is very important to incorporate the
keywords into your text so that the information still sounds
interesting to your readers.
This will take some practice, but it will be worth
your efforts.

Opt-in List Building Tips
Content - Content - Content
Content is what makes the web-go-round so....
If you haven't done this already then it's time to create a
content site. One that is on the same topic as the list
that you are building or planning to build.
Include lots of keyword rich articles so that you get traffic
from the search engines, then make sure you add an opt in
email form on all of your pages, so that people that enjoyed
your articles can sign up for your list.
Keep in mind that you don't have to write all for the content
yourself. You can hire a ghostwriter to write the articles
for you or you can purchase ready made articles and even ready
made websites. Just do an Internet search for
"private label content" and you will find endless
possibilities.
Gift's - everyone loves a free gift.
Offer a free gift as an incentive for people to sign up
for your list. This is a tested and proven method to increase
the number of people that subscribe to your list.
The gift that you offer doesn't have to be anything expensive,
but it should be something that is perceived as useful and
valuable to the people that you want to subscribe to your list.
For instance if your website is about dogs, then you could
offer a free report on dog grooming. If you sell software
you could offer a free trial download. Just make sure your
gift is something of great value to your potential subscribers
and you will have people eagerly joining your list.
What about creating a viral ebook?
Now this may sound like a huge task, but really it doesn't
have be that hard. You can easily create your own viral ebook
with a text editor like MS Word and turn it into a downloadable
PDF file using a free tool like pdf995 or Adobe Online
www.pdf995.com/
createpdf.adobe.com/
I now use OpenOffice to create my text files and
conversion to PDF. It is very simple to use.
Creating an ebook specifically to give away filled with good
information on your topic, plus links pointing back to website
or blog where they are exposed to your opt-in list form is a
great way to multiply the number of subscribers that you add
to your list. Inside the ebook encourage your readers to share
the ebook with their friends and subscribers.
Remember, people love getting things for free, and they
like sharing even more.
Contests!
Contests are great, because everyone likes to win!
Start a contest on your site. Give away something of real
value to the winner of the contest. Of course they have
to join the contest by signing up to your list. This will
give you the privilege of contacting them in the future.
Make sure that whatever you are giving away is relevant to
the topic of your site and that it something that will
encourage people to want to enter and win.
How you can quickly grow the number of subscribers on your
list.
If you already have a list and you are looking to get more
subscribers then it's time to work a little trade (joint
venture).
Do a search for lists or ezines that are similar to yours,
then contact the owner of the list and see if you can arrange
to recommend each other to your subscribers.
Let the owner know that you believe your readers would
benefit greatly from the information that they have to offer
and that their readers will benefit also.
If you keep in mind that most people sign up for more than
one list you will see how this can be a great arrangement
for both of you. Make your offer as irresistible as possible
to the other list owner.
